Navigation
Once you are signed in, everything in Immersive is one or two taps away. This page tours the navigation so you always know where you are and how to get back.
Where you land
Your very first sign-in takes you through the language check and then to Profile → Progress (see Getting started). After that, signing in takes you to the verb library, Immersive’s home page. The Immersive logo also leads back there.
The tabs
On a computer or tablet, the tabs run along the top of the page; on a phone, they sit in a tab bar at the bottom, within reach of your thumb:
- Decks: your decks, the deck Library, and your review history. See Decks & Reviews.
- Documents: texts you are reading or writing, plus the document Library. See Documents.
- Grammar: notes by CEFR level, practice, and the grammar of reading. See Grammar.
- Verbs: conjugation tables, audio, and example sentences. See Verbs.
- Profile: your progress, activity, evaluations, vocabulary, coach chats, teachers, and account. See Profile & Progress.
The tab for the section you are in is highlighted.
The account menu
Your profile picture sits at the end of the navigation bar. Selecting it opens a small menu with your first name, your email, and Log out.
The coach button
At the bottom of the pages with the navigation bar is a button to ask the coach. Its label follows what you are looking at: Ask the coach in general, Ask about this note on a grammar note, Ask about this verb on a verb page. See Coach.
Full-screen pages
Two places hide the navigation so you can concentrate:
- The reader. Opening a document shows only the text and its controls. The close button (X) takes you back to your documents.
- Review sessions. The card takes over the screen. The X at the top of the card takes you back to the deck; every grade you give is saved as you go.
The daily review email
When your decks have cards waiting, Immersive sends one email a day at about 7:00 in your time zone. The subject says what is waiting (“3 cards are due today”, or “5 new cards ready to learn today”). The email lists each deck with its counts and two sample prompts, and each deck has its own Start reviewing link that opens that deck’s review session.
The email is on unless you stop it. Stop receiving this daily email, at the bottom of every copy, turns it off in one click; there is no setting in the app to turn it back on. Stopping the email never stops your reviews.
