Managing decks
The Decks page is your library of study material. This page covers keeping it organised: reading the deck list, copying ready-made decks, folders, tags, bookmarks, editing, exporting to Anki, and deleting what you no longer need.
The deck list
My Decks lists your decks with three columns:
- New: cards you have not seen yet.
- Learn: cards you are in the middle of learning.
- Due: cards whose review time has arrived. A due count is a link that starts the review.
These numbers tell you at a glance where your review time is needed.
The Library
Above your decks sits the Library: ready-made decks from Immersive in the language you are learning, with a count of how many there are. It starts folded; open it to see the decks. It includes most-common-words decks split by frequency (the first 500 words, then 501 to 1,000, then 1,001 to 5,000), so you never study the same word twice, and for some languages an Essentials deck of core verbs in the present tense.
Library decks are studied from your own copy: press the + next to one (Copy to My Decks) and the copy appears in My Decks.
Public decks
Verb pages and verb form pages list Public decks that practise that verb. Open one to see its cards, and choose Copy to My Decks to study it. Your copy shows which deck it was copied from.
Folders
Folders keep a long deck list manageable:
- Create a folder while creating or editing a deck: pick an existing folder or type a new folder name.
- Move a deck with Move to folder in the deck’s menu on the Decks page.
- A folder’s menu lets you rename it, start a New deck in folder, or Delete folder. Deleting a folder never deletes decks: they return to My Decks.
Folders open and close in place on the Decks page.
Tags
Tags group decks across folders. Add them when creating or editing a deck; tapping a tag on a deck page filters the Decks list to decks with that tag.
Bookmarks
The bookmark icon on a deck (in the list, or on the deck page) marks it. The bookmark button at the top of the Decks page then shows only your bookmarked decks.
Editing a deck
Open a deck and choose the pencil to open its workspace. Edit deck opens the settings: rename it in either language, change its folder, or adjust its tags, then choose Update Deck. The card list below lets you edit or delete individual cards and add examples.
Exporting to Anki
Export to Anki on one of your decks prepares an Anki file in the background and emails it to you when it is ready. To export a Library or public deck, copy it to My Decks first.
Deleting a deck
Delete a deck with the trash button in its workspace. Deleting removes the deck, its cards, and their review progress; you are asked to confirm first.
