Grammar practice
Reading a note once is not enough to make a grammar point stick. Practice turns a note’s exercises into review cards that come back on the same memory-based schedule as your decks.
Practising a note
On a grammar note, Practice (with how many cards are due, new, or waiting) creates the note’s cards, if you have none yet, and starts a review of that note. The cards go into a deck called Grammar practice for the language, which you also see in My Decks.
Reviewing grammar
Grammar reviews can cover one note, one area, one level, or everything:
- On the Grammar page: Review 3 due, or Practice · 5 new when nothing is due.
- On a level page: Review 3 due at B1.
- On an area page: Review this area or Practice this area.
- On a note: Practice.
The review works like a deck review (see Reviewing cards), with three modes:
- Read: read the card, recall the answer, and grade yourself (Grade it to continue).
- Write: type the answer; Immersive checks it and proposes a grade.
- Choose: pick the right form from the options (number keys work too); choosing submits and grades the card.
Immersive remembers the mode you use for grammar separately from your deck reviews. A card that cannot be answered in the chosen mode is shown in the nearest one that fits.
When there is nothing to review
With no grammar cards yet, the review page says No cards yet and suggests notes to try. When cards exist but none are due, it says when the next one comes due. Either way, it offers the recommended notes, Browse your level, and Back to Grammar.
Your standing
Every review updates your mastery of the note, its area, and its level, shown on the Grammar page and on each note. Due grammar cards also appear under Up next on Profile → Progress.
