Profile & Progress
Your Profile is the command center for everything about you as a learner: where you stand, what you have done, the words you have collected, your chats with the coach, the people you study with, and your account itself. Open Profile from the navigation — it remembers which tab you used last. The tabs are Progress, Activity, Evaluate, Vocabulary, Coach, Teachers, and Account.
Progress
Where you stand. Immersive tracks comprehension and production separately, because understanding legitimately runs ahead of speaking and writing — that gap is the method working, not a problem. Comprehension shows the level you gave yourself at sign-up, with the evidence gathering under it for Reading and Listening. Production shows the middle grade of your corrected writing, with the evidence for Writing and Speaking (graded writing, evaluations from classmates).
By domain. Rollups for each area — your decks (cards mastered, learning, new, and due now), your grammar (working level, notes started, mastery, and cards due), your documents, your vocabulary, and your graded writing. The rows for decks, grammar, documents, and vocabulary open their section.
Up next. What is actually waiting: due cards to review, due grammar cards, words from this week not yet in a deck. When nothing is waiting, it says so.
Languages. The languages you know and the one you are learning, which comparisons and hints use, with Edit to change them.
Until you have cards, documents, or vocabulary, the tab shows First steps instead: your starting level from sign-up and up to three concrete actions — open your first deck, read something at your level, and read your first grammar note.
Activity
Your study, added up — effort only, never judgment:
- This week and All time: sessions, time studied, and reviews.
- A heatmap of the last 12 months: one square per day, darker meaning more study, with your total study days, longest run, and current run.
- The study log: your sessions and reviews, day by day, filterable by kind of activity, with a full log available.
Evaluate
After studying with a classmate, you can trade quick evaluations — one overall impression (Excellent, Good, or Getting there) plus an optional comment. It is a courtesy between learners, never a ranking.
- Show my code displays a short code for your classmate to enter. Codes last 10 minutes and work once.
- Enter a code from a classmate’s screen to evaluate them: pick an impression, add a sentence if you like, and send.
Evaluations you give and receive are listed on the tab, and spoken evaluations count as evidence on your Progress tab.
Vocabulary
The words and sentences you have collected while studying — searchable, filterable, and one action away from becoming a deck. See Vocabulary.
Coach
Your chats with the coach, newest first, each labelled with what it was about. Open one to read it again, or delete it. See Coach.
Teachers
If you study with a teacher, you can let them follow your progress — on your terms:
- Choose Create access code and pick exactly what it unlocks: Progress, Activity, and/or Vocabulary.
- Set an expiry (a week, a month, end of term, or none) and hand the code to your teacher.
- They claim it and see the parts you chose — read-only, never your account details.
Revoke any teacher’s access at any time; it ends immediately. Unclaimed codes can be cancelled, and lapse after seven days. See Teachers for the details and what your teacher sees.
Account
Everything administrative lives here:
- Account — first name, last name, and gender. Your email address is shown here.
- Profile — location and profile picture.
- Languages — the same grid as onboarding: what you speak, what you are learning, your level, and your display language. Change it any time. Below the grid, Use the languages I know to explain the one I’m learning turns on the cross-language comparisons: the Across your languages box on grammar notes, the six-language equivalents in the reader, and the grammar of reading with its dotted underlines. It is off by default — most people learn one language at a time.
- Password — changing it asks for your current password. Your email address is set at sign-up and cannot be changed in the app; use the contact form if you need it changed.
- Your data — Download your personal data emails you a link to everything we hold about you: your decks and cards, your documents and the files you uploaded to make them, your writing, your chats with the coach, your vocabulary, your review history and the record of what you did in the app. It arrives as a zip file. You have to be signed in to download it, and the link works for a week.
- Remove my account — deletes your account and all its data. This cannot be undone.
