Verbs
Verbs are the machinery of a sentence, and Immersive gives them a full reference section: conjugation tables for each language, with audio and example sentences. The verb tables are public, so you can browse them without an account, and they are Immersive’s home page when you sign in.
What the Verbs section offers
- Conjugation tables for each verb, organised by mood and tense, with the nominal forms (infinitive, participles, gerund) at the top.
- Audio: listen to a form from the table where a recording exists, and on any form’s own page.
- Example sentences with translations, one under each tense and more on each form’s page. Where a form has no example yet, Immersive writes one for signed-in learners.
- Search and filters to find a verb quickly, or to stick to the common ones while you are starting out.
- Public decks that practise the verb, which you can copy to your decks once signed in.
- More verbs: a few common verbs close in frequency, at the foot of each verb page.
For signed-in learners
With an account, the verb pages do more:
- Across your languages: on a form’s page, the same tense and person lined up in each language you know, most similar languages side by side. Add a comparison card turns it into a review card.
- In your decks and In your sentences: the decks that hold the verb, with due counts, and the sentences from your documents and vocabulary that use it.
- Add to a deck: opens one of your decks’ verb picker with the verb selected.
- Show only your verbs: a filter on the verb list for the verbs already in your decks.
- Pronoun: choose how third-person forms are shown (for example il, elle, or both).
- A verb with no tables yet is conjugated the first time a signed-in learner opens it.
Where to start
- Open Verbs from the navigation (or visit the home page).
- Search for a verb, or browse the list; Show only common verbs keeps it short.
- Open a verb: every tense is on the page. Jump to a tense with the tense menu, tap the speaker to hear a form, and open a form to read its example sentences.
