Teachers
If you study with a teacher, you can let them follow your progress, on your terms: you choose what they see and for how long, and you can end it at any time. They see those parts of your profile read-only, and never your account details.
Giving a teacher access
- Open Profile → Teachers and choose Create access code.
- Pick what the code unlocks: Progress (levels and domain rollups), Activity (heatmap, effort, and the study log), and Vocabulary (collected words and their counts). Progress and Activity are ticked to start with.
- Pick when access Expires: End of term (31 August), In one month, In one week, or No expiry.
- Choose Create code and hand the code to your teacher, or use Copy link to send them a link with the code filled in.
A code that nobody claims lapses after seven days. Until it is claimed, it is listed under Access codes with Cancel.
Ending access
Teachers who claimed a code are listed with what they can see and since when. Revoke ends a teacher’s access immediately.
For teachers
To follow a student you need an Immersive account of your own:
- Sign in, then open the link your student sent you, or go to Claim an access code (
/teach/claim) and type the code. - Choose Claim code.
You then see the parts of your student’s profile they chose, under a banner that says whose profile it is, that it is read-only, and when access expires:
- Progress: where they stand, and their decks, documents, and writing.
- Activity: their effort, study days, and study log.
- Vocabulary: the words and sentences they collected, with a type filter.
Immersive has no menu entry for the students you follow, so bookmark the page to come back to it. If a code is not accepted, the page says why: it does not match, it is your own, or it is no longer valid (ask your student for a fresh one).
