Reviewing cards

A review session shows you the cards that are due, one at a time, full screen. Each answer you give feeds the schedule: cards you know well move further out, cards you miss come back soon. Reviews use spaced repetition that adapts to your memory — the FSRS schedule.

Starting a session

Open a deck. If cards are waiting, the deck page shows one big button — Start review, with the number of cards — and a caption breaking that down into due and new cards. Press it (or press Space) to begin.

If nothing is due, the deck tells you when the next card comes due. When new cards remain, you can still press Study ahead to introduce them early.

The four modes

Tabs at the top of the card switch the review mode. Immersive remembers the last mode you used and starts there next time.

Read — read the prompt and recall the answer in your head, press Show answer (Space works too), then grade yourself.
Write — produce the answer in writing. You can Tap shuffled word or letter tiles into place, or switch to Type and use the keyboard. Your answer is checked automatically.
Listen — the card is spoken aloud; type what you hear. Checked automatically.
Speak — read the prompt aloud while recording (recording auto-stops at ten seconds). Immersive compares what it heard against the reference; if no transcript could be made, you grade yourself against the reference.

Grading

Every review ends in one of four grades:

Again — you did not recall it; the card returns very soon.
Hard — you got there, with difficulty.
Good — recalled with some effort.
Easy — effortless; the card moves furthest out.

In Read mode you choose the grade yourself; on larger screens each grade shows the interval it would schedule. In Write, Listen, and Speak modes your answer is graded automatically — the grade is shown with your result, and you can pick a different one to override it.

Session progress and results

A thin progress bar tracks the session. When the queue is finished you get a summary: cards reviewed, how many you recalled first try, and your focused effort time. If some cards did not go well, a to revisit link runs just those cards again immediately — revisits are extra practice and do not count against daily limits.

Daily limits

To keep sessions sustainable, each deck introduces at most a fixed number of new cards per day, and stops scheduling after a daily review limit. If you hit a limit, the deck says so — the remaining cards simply wait for tomorrow.

Review history

From the Decks page, the clock icon opens your Review history: every session, newest first, with the deck, how many cards you reviewed, how many you recalled, and how long it took. Sessions with misses offer a link to revisit those cards.

The daily review email

When cards are due, Immersive can email you each morning with the count and a Start reviewing button. Every email has an unsubscribe link; stopping the email never stops your reviews.
