Grammar

Grammar notes are Immersive’s reference articles: each one explains a single grammar concept in your target language, with examples, and many include exercises you can check on the spot. They are organised by CEFR level, so you can stay at your level instead of wading through a whole grammar book.

Grammar notes are available to signed-in learners at /grammar.

How grammar notes are organised

  • By level — notes are graded from A1 (beginner) to C1 (advanced), so you can match them to where you are.
  • By category — within a level, notes are grouped by topic, such as “Verbs, Tenses & Conjugation”, “Pronouns”, or “Prepositions & Conjunctions”.

Each note carries badges showing its level and category.

What a note contains

  • An explanation of the concept, written for learners, with example words and sentences.
  • Where a translation exists, the note is shown in your language, with a toggle to switch to the target language version — a good way to stretch yourself once the concept is familiar.
  • Some notes end with exercises: fill-in-the-blank sentences you can answer and check immediately.

Keeping notes handy

Use the bookmark icon on any note to save it, then filter the grammar index to show only your bookmarked notes. Bookmarks are the natural home for the concepts you keep having to look up.

Where to start

  1. Open the Grammar section.
  2. Filter or search for the concept you need — or browse your level’s categories to see what is there.
  3. Read the note, try its exercises, and bookmark it if you will want it again.
